Grosvenor in London, Bern and Prague

Bravo to Benjamin on a sensational performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto no. 2 yesterday with the Philharmonia Orchestra, hot off the heels from three performances of Benjamin Britten’s Piano Concerto in both Prague and Bern last week.

‘the young British pianist gave an excellent performance, self-contained, non-flashy, his touch ranging from delicate to muscular. He deployed rubatos sparingly, occasionally teasing the musical line but never distorting it; a model of good taste. This was an immaculate, unflappable account’ [Bachtrack ****]

Later this week, he returns to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in a performance of Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto, which earlier this year was selected as one of the ’23 for 2023′ Cultural events in the Guardian.
