Benjamin performs Liszt across the US

Tonight, renowned Liszt interpreter Benjamin Grosvenor kicks-off his latest month-long tour of North America with a return to the National Symphony, Washington. He will perform Liszt’s sparkling Piano Concerto No. 1 on three consecutive nights (9, 10, 11), collaborating with conductor Anja Bihlmaier for the first time. Next week Benjamin travels to work with the Indianapolis Symphony in the same concerto with Kazem Abdullah (17,18). After recitals in Miami and Schenectady featuring both Liszt and Chopin’s B minor sonatas, he ends his visit with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Alongside conductor Vasily Petrenko, Benjamin performs the Liszt concerto two further times on 31 May and 2 June, with the middle concert on 1 June entitled ‘The Art of the Piano with Benjamin Grosvenor’as part of the PSO360 chamber series featuring Grieg’s third Violin Sonata and Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 1.



Later in June, Benjamin embarks upon a European recital tour with highlights including Chopin Nohant Festival (16 June), his debut at Tauberphilharmonie (28 June), and a return to Klavier-Festival Ruhr (3 July).
